In the treaty, each nation agrees to reduce its warheads to 1,550 each and limit its land-, air-, and sea-based launchers to 800. This is a reduction from the 2,200 warheads allowed in the Treaty of Moscow in 1992, and the 1600 launchers allowed in the original START treaty of 1991.
